What's Good? Doing A Summer Senior Photo Session

The summer before your senior year is special! You're super excited to be a senior in high school and can't wait
to see what your senior year, your last year in high school, (and living the life as you've known it) will be like.

Summer senior photos are a great way to capture this monumental time in your life. Needless to say, summer just puts out all the positive vibes and happy feels. Plus, the fact that school is not in session allows for the opportunity to get things that you want to do done. It's a time to celebrate, in anticipation of an exciting and eventful senior year.

So here's a list of the ups and the pros to doing a summer senior photo session:

Summer Pros:

• More relaxed schedule since you are out of school
  for the summer. If you're doing college visits in the Fall, your time is more flexible in summer

• Longer days making golden hour beautiful for senior
  photos

• Warm weather

• Beautiful glowy hydrated skin

• Summer clothing - dresses, sandals, shorts and more!

• Summer senior sessions mean getting your photos
  back in plenty of time to place an ad in the back of
  your senior yearbook or to use for other projects or things you may be involved in doing, such as submissions to publications or scholarship applications

• Check it off your senior to-do list

• Have photos for every #seniorsunday your entire
  senior year

• Summer flowers, like sunflowers, are in bloom

And to be fair, I understand that there may be some drawbacks to doing a senior photo session in summer. That's OK... If summer isn't your fav or your jam, that just means another time of year, another season might work better for you. I have a break down on the pros and cons of the other seasons in some of my other blog posts... But just know, there's a time and season for everyone, in terms of doing a photo session with me and of course, in terms of life!!!. 😊

Summer Cons:

• It may be pretty hot where we live. This is the con. But the good news and it's always my plan to try to make it work. We may sweat a little more, but there will be a towel and water. And of course we will try to schedule at a most optimal time. That may mean but we will do the photoshoot in the evening when it isn’t as hot. Can you say hand held fan!

• Summer is pretty early into your senior year which may affect whether you want photos taken in
  summer

• Vacation and travel may keep you busy. But every session can work around whatever you vacation and travel schedule may be

• It's hot but it's summer. Embrace it.😊

  Summer Outfit Inspiration

  What to wear for summer senior sessions:

  • Sundresses - maxi, midi or mini will all look great in summer senior photos. Choose
    dresses that will allow us to create movement in your photos.

  • Shorts - For guys and gals, shorts are a great option to showcase the summer season. This can be anything from denim, khaki, romper, whatever

  • Sandals - the shoe of summer! Sandals look great with dresses, rompers, shorts and
    more!

  • Sneakers- they always work

  • Colors that scream summer! This can be white (which to me is the official color of
    summer) to a bright, happy color and anything in between.

  The location for your summer senior photoshoot is what will bring the vision you have for
  your photos to life. Consider these locations that look great in the summer!
