Personality Portraits are timeless. I provide this candid photography for schools, preschools, daycare centers, and parents who want something special and different when it comes to taking pictures of kids. Hi there! I’m Sonia, and I’m not just a photographer; I love capturing childhood. I'm based in the vibrant DMV area of Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. and specialize in creating timeless portraits that truly represent the unique personality of the children I photograph. My goal is to get and preserve genuine moments filled with joy and individuality.
Creating a Fun and Relaxed Environment
One element of my approach is the environment I create during sessions. Children should feel comfortable and be themselves. That's why I focus on making time shooting with kids light, fun, and filled with laughter. When kids are relaxed, the results are special – beautiful, authentic portraits that capture their true spirit! I don't want them stressing or not enjoying the experience...it's my joy to try to have your children have fun, genuine moments that reveal who they are.

Session Fee
Based upon the school size, there may be an upfront cost. Thereafter, families pay for the images they love with no pressure to buy.
Easy for schools
Online ordering - easy straightforward transactions with payments through various secured portals. Proofing gallery is delivered in a secure, online portal.
Communicating with parents - my contact info is in all emails for parents and I welcome parents to contact me directly with questions.
Customizable - Individual, sibling, staff photos, composites/ group
BOOKING PROCESS
I have a phone call or touch base with your school contact. We will choose the date and time for picture day.
A week or two before picture day, I will email a flyer for you to share with the school and parents. I will also collect the student list and parent emails for photo delivery.
On picture day, we arrive at the scheduled time and take about 10 minutes to set up. We photograph the students and children in the order that works best for the school.
A few days after picture day, parents will receive an email with a private gallery. They can view and purchase any photos they like.
Prints will be delivered to the school within 2–3 weeks after picture day. Families can choose the photos they want printed, as opposed to having a pose chosen for them. They will receive a personalized password-protected online ordering gallery with a selection of images in both color and black and white. Families may then choose and order their prints and digital files directly from their galleries. I also provide unique product choices such as canvas gallery wraps.
What Should My Child Wear to Their Personality Portrait Session?
The goal of these photos is to have your child be the main focus, therefore I recommend choosing clothes that are not too "busy" or distracting. This means I recommend either solid colors, or smaller prints that aren't too overwhelming. Words, graphics or large brand/logos can also be distracting since that can be cut off in the photos. Super bright and neon colors may be a tad distracting as well. But if that's you, then be you.

How many students can you accommodate?
I love working with small schools, daycare centers, and can provide my photo service to larger schools
What's the cost?
I keep it simple and streamlined. There’s no cost to the school/center, and all orders are made by parents online. The online process offers parents several options in addition to simple prints, digital downloads.
What time of year can you photograph?
I work with each individual school/daycare to schedule shoots any time during the academic year, I can also offer multiple photo shoots during the year (Spring/Fall).
