This year, especially, I wanted to get in the holiday mood. It's been a super long, complicated year, and I wanted to get in the holiday spirit, ASAP. Can you feel me? Are you with me?

My First Steps in Planning My Holiday Sessions This Year

So this year I got on the stick and prepared earlier than usual for what I wanted for my holiday and Christmas pictures for my folks. I wanted to think outside the box, outside my ordinary. I like the idea of doing outdoor pictures, with nature, trees, the outdoors as part of the background. Hey but not this year!! This year I wanted to try using a pre fabulous work of art. Yes, I searched the internet, a.k.a Amazon, and found a special studio backdrop that I could use as my background for my in studio sessions. I guess I wanted to mix it up, just a bit.

Okay, Is Outdoor Photo Session or Indoor Photo Session Better?

Now the question comes up as to whether outdoor or in studio sessions work better. Wait, maybe that's not really the important issue or question. Sometimes it's good to just add a new element to your arsenal. That is the way I look at the addition of my Christmas Holiday Backdrop. It's an added element to the creative process. When you are a photographer, you think creatively. You try things out. You like things. You don't. You change things up. You go with new things. You loose other things. Some things look great. But trying something new and creating something new that looks good is the important thing.

So Here's The Result ...Check It Out

So this is the result. I got this cute backdrop. For what it's worth, I had fun using this holiday backdrop during holiday photo shoots. It's life-like and cool!!!!

Fun feeling and brings on the spirit of the holidays. Check! It looks really nice. Check!! It looks genuinely real and I love the colors and the festive feel. Nothing like reindeer to scream Christmas. I added little mini Christmas trees decorated with little white lights to add some warm lighting to my pictures. It definitely added a 3D -dimensional element to the pictures. My husband, Rodney, creative wonder guy that he is, additionally helped out by buying some Ho, Ho, Ho, Buffalo Plaid Satchel Bags to add some more color and depth and props for the holiday scene. It all came together to be a really creative set design for the photo sessions.

So, from now on, I'll have an option and offer the opportunity to do an outdoor holiday photo session or an in studio session.

Love That It Allows For Creative Versatility And Creates A Fun Holiday Vibe

And the great takeaway is that it's always a good thing to be able to be in that position. That is even more important when you live in an area where weather may be a factor. Yes, this year the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area may be somewhat crazy mild, but that's not always going to be the case. So options and choice is a win win, as far as I'm concerned. ❤️

And the most important thing, as far as any photo session , is that I want you to feel good about the experience. And with a Christmas/Holiday session I would love for you to come away feeling like you got a super boost and you feel in a festive holiday mood. Hey, besides the superimposed holiday setting, by way of the backdrop, I try to make sure to play a bunch of holiday music. Cyrus Chestnut's entire soundtrack "Charlie Brown Christmas" will always be my favorite, closely followed by Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You." So if you're able to do a photo session with me I hope you feel and enjoy the positive holiday vibes that I try to create.

FYI, I strive for good vibes and for you to have a great photography experience,.. whether you book me for a holiday session, senior photo session or maternity session, or any other session throughout the year. I'm like a host to a party. 😊
