High School Senior Niyea in Alexandria Virginia Photo Shoot | Senior Session

For her shoot, Niyea and I were in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia in what is generally known as the waterfront area of Alexandria, Virginia. My plan was to take pictures of Niyea in this wonderful setting so that we could capture the atmosphere, vibrant energy, perfect backdrop of natural architectural gems, and the bustling crowds. All of these factors came out to play and added to the dimension and feel of the images captured. It was a natural feel of a special day in the city!

We were ready for action for this senior shoot. Niyea is a high school senior, was in Old Town Alexandria with some of her high school friends, and it made for a perfect opportunity to take some pictures. The weather was not perfect, but it wasn't a total bust, as the cloud cover in the sky provided a perfect diffuser for an even layer of nice natural lighting.

So here's a quick FYI, you don't need a sun shining day to have good, if not perfect lighting. In fact, if the day is muted with a balance of some clouds, light, and a smidge of grayness, such lighting will still work really well to produce good lighting for your images. No rain, plus good natural light, equals a happy photographer and good senior photo session. I usually don't reschedule just because it might not be a perfect sunny day. As they say, make it work, and I do!!!
