As a family photographer based in Fort Washington, Maryland, I’m lucky to be surrounded by some truly scenic spots—but few compare to the beauty of Fort Washington Park. I recently had the pleasure of doing a family session there, and I have to say, it was one of those shoots that just felt effortless in the best possible way.

From the moment we arrived, the park offered everything a photographer could ask for: lush greenery, open spaces, and those breathtaking views of the Potomac River. The historic backdrop of the fort itself added a timeless charm to the session, creating a perfect balance of natural and architectural beauty.

The lighting that day couldn’t have been better—soft, golden, and perfect for capturing those candid family moments. Whether it was the kids smiles, or quiet, cozy poses with mom, every shot felt like a great picturesque backdrop.
